Summary
Phillip, Ellen, and Jeb Finley move away from the city and into an old house. Their new playroom has an old red velvet chair. On the chair appears a ghostly cat named Opalina, who tells the children all about herself and the people that have lived in that old house. The story contains details from her nine lives from the 1700's through the present day (1960's).
